John Glossop

Vice Admiral John Collings Taswell Glossop, (23 October 1871 – 23 December 1934) was a British Royal Navy officer best known for captaining the Australian cruiser during the Battle of Cocos in which the German cruiser was sunk.〔(Biography at Australian War Memorial )〕
==Naval career==
Glossop joined the Royal Navy. By then a Lieutenant, he was on 21 May 1902 posted to the screw gunboat HMS ''Lizard'', serving at the Australia Station.
He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 1915 New Year Honours.
